Opinion: Atta and Aurel Luxury Weeding: Should This be Broadcast?
Recently, viral news emerged from a young artist Titania Aurelie Nurhermansyah and famous Asian YouTuber Atta Halilintar who held a luxurious wedding at a hotel in Jakarta. Not only at marriage, since the beginning of their closeness to both of them, this relationship has been widely discussed by Indonesian netizens, moreover, they are both young artists who are on the rise in Indonesia both in the television and on social media such as Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and etc. However, of course this magnificent wedding ceremony, which was held in early April yesterday, raised various opinions from the public from various circles. For Atta and Aurel fans, of course, they are very happy to hear this news and are enthusiastic about participating in all their activities. However, it turns out that many people speculate about the broadcast of Atta and Aurel's lavish wedding which is considered unnecessary. I think this marriage does not need to be broadcast for several reasons.
During the pandemic, which has been in Indonesia for more than 1 year, the economy of the people has worsened and is decreasing every time. Indeed, some people still live properly even during the pandemic, but so many people are experiencing difficulties in their current economy. This is the first reason why the broadcast of this magnificent and luxurious wedding does not need to be broadcast, because this actually annoys many people because they see those who easily waste money in times of difficulty due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The following reasons are related to social distancing. This wedding was held in a large place in a hotel in Jakarta. Of course, this has made the public speculate that with so many guests coming, it will be difficult to implement health protocols during a pandemic at the event. But the event can still be carried out until it is finished. This makes the public disappointed and considers the government is not fair between the marriage of artists and ordinary people, where if ordinary citizens conduct a wedding that is attended by many people, the officers do not hesitate to dissolve it, but this has not happened with the marriage of these two celebrities. Although the social distancing situation at this weeding event is not certain, the broadcast of this marriage is enough to make many people angry and do not accept the government's attitude, regardless of whether the situation is true or not.
The last is related to the blasphemy of society which actually makes Atta and Aurel look bad. As previously explained, after watching a series of wedding events, people flocked to sneer at Atta and Aurel, who were considered to be showing off their wealth, social status, and TV stations that took advantage of their popularity to increase the broadcast rating on their TV station. There are also people who are disappointed why this TV stations want to broadcast their wedding, because not everyone wants to watch it. As a result, society gives a lot of negative views which will also make Atta and Aurel look bad by the general public. This makes Atta, Aurel, their families and the community both suffer losses. For this reason, it is better if it is held without media so that the event runs smoothly without any skewed speculations from various circles.
Carrying out a beautiful weeding event is everyone's right. Likewise, celebrities who are also entitled to hold the event in a magnificent and luxurious way. However, this does not mean that all private life can be disseminated to the public. Especially during this pandemic, where the economy is in difficulty, social distancing is still tight, so it is better if this luxurious and expensive wedding is not broadcast. This will actually make people annoyed because they see the way they waste money in the implementation of their marriage, so that the celebrities get more and more blasphemies from the community which is it should be their happy day where they should get congratulations by others. For this reason, this event should be held in private without the mass media and made into public consumption.
