Distance learning or online learning is carried out as a way to break the chain of spreading covid-19. This activity inevitably has to be carried out and followed by almost all schools and universities in Indonesia so that the wheels of education in Indonesia continue to run.
At the beginning of the implementation, students felt happy because they would be given a long "holiday", but after experiencing it firsthand, it turned out that this online learning activity was far from their expectations, not as good as they imagined. There are more obstacles students felt when learning online than learning offline. From many obstacles that students experience, there are 3 Problems that in my opinion the most make students hate online learning.
1. A lot of assignments
This is the first obstacle and reason that will be raised by students if they are asked why they hate online learning? yes, assignments that never end and always come every day. There are even teachers who prefer to give assignments rather than teach. It is true that currently students are required to be independent in learning, but this does not mean that students do not need teachers to guide them in understanding the learning material.
Giving too many assignments is actually not good for students because many students do it carelessly because they don't understand the material of the assignments and they are being chased by deadlines from many other assignments every day. Providing an explanation of the subject matter and assignments that are not much will allow students to complete the assigned assignments properly and seriously and also the online learning process will run well.
2. Â The difficulty of finding a signal
Not all areas are located in areas that have high signal, not all student's residence are located in cities, there are many students who live far away in remote areas.
Online study schedules are usually equated with face-to-face lesson schedules where in online learning students are also required to always attend classes and enter on time. For this reason, in order to enter online classes on time, students living in remote areas must be willing to go far from home to look for signals, climb into trees and even some students die or have accidents when they go looking for signals. If the weather is good students can go to a place with high signal, but if the weather is bad, unlike students who live in cities where they can still get signals even in bad weather, students in remote areas must be willing to be absent or not attend class because they could not go to find a place to study.
If the government can provide assistance such as signal towers in remote areas, this problem will soon be minimized and students can attend online classes properly.
3. Inadequate learning facilities
The last obstacle is the problem of facilities. There are still many students who cannot participate in online learning because they do not have smartphone and laptop, even though these are the main tools we must have in order to participate in the online learning process. Many students have to share with their friends so they can take online classes. If the government can provide subsidies for laptops, cellphones or provide places for online learning in the area where students live, then all students can take online classes.
