Surakarta - A total of 400 students divided into 80 groups took part in a product or service exhibition at Wirausaha Merdeka expo on the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) campus in the de tjolomadoe Karanganyar area, which lasted for 2 days, on December 2 and 3, 2023.
 This exhibition is also the closing and peak event of WMK UMS 2023 which has been running since last June. At the peak event, various activities were also held to enliven the exhibition.
 At the closing of WMK UMS, Chair of MBKM UMS and Director of WMK UMS, Munajat Tri Nugroho, Ph.D said that this WMK activity was a collaborative activity with the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology in order to provide provisions for students to become entrepreneurs.
 "The results of this activity will produce students who will not only become employees, but also entrepreneurs who will make positive contributions to society," hoped Munajat.
 Through this WMK activity, students not only learn in class but can also apply it. Students have also previously participated in internships at MSMEs and attended entrepreneurship seminars or workshops organized by the committee.
 The products sold at the expo were the result of entrepreneurship workshops, mentoring by mentors through the MSME internship program, preparation of business proposals, and creation of product prototypes that had gone through a pitching process.
It is hoped that through this expo the products produced by the WMK program can be widely known by the public who are interested in buying and using the products produced by WMK participants. The existence of this expo does not rule out the possibility of attracting the interest of potential investors to work together to develop the businesses offered by WMK participants. (Asyfa AR)
