by method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivision (dengan metode dan disiplin harus dipahami pengelompokan tentara dalam subdivisi yang tepat)
2. Expenditure = pengeluaran
the control of military expenditure (pengendalian pengeluaran militer)
3. besiege = mengepung (surround, besiege, encircle, outflank, beset, mob)
the rule is, not to besiege walled cities if it can be possibly be avoided (aturannya adalah, jangan mengepung kota-kota bertembok jika hal itu bisa dihindari)
4. Cling = melekat
don't cling to yesterday. it was beautiful but it was yesterday (jangan melekat pada hari kemarin. itu indah tapi itu baru kemarin)
5.toil = bekerja keras (strive, toil, slog, buckle down, dig in, slave)
the highest reward for one's toil is not what ones gets for it. but what wants becomes buy it (imbalan tertinggi atas jerih payah seseorang bukanlah apa yang didapatnya. tapi yang diinginkan menjadi membelinya)
