English On, Barriers Gone: Creating an English Forum and a Generation Ready to Embrace a Well-Being Society 6.0 at MTS and MA Assathi, Rembang

In the 21st century, it is essential for every individual to realize their potential. Those who do not keep up with the times risk being left behind. Mastery of language, particularly as a means of communication, is crucial. English, as one of the most widely spoken international languages, is studied in many countries, including those where it is not the native language. In Indonesia, for example, English is a compulsory subject from elementary school through high school. The government's efforts aim to create a generation proficient in English, capable of engaging on the international stage. English has permeated various aspects of life, including education, economics, politics, technology, and culture.

In the era of Well-Being Society 6.0, the importance of English cannot be overstated. It is a critical skill for everyone. With this in mind, Munahiya, a student from the English study program at Giat 9 UNNES in Karas Village, has developed a breakthrough approach to learning English more effectively. After conducting observations and interviews at the school, several insights emerged. "The students' potential in English is quite good, but the school has only planned to create a forum for them, and it has yet to be realized," said Mrs. Iffa, the principal of MTs Assathi'. This inspired Munahiya to create a platform for students with a keen interest in learning English. "My goal in establishing this forum is to help develop students' talents and interests, particularly in English, and to provide them with skills they can use after graduation," Munahiya explained.

Following consultations with staff at both MTs and MA, the response was positive. Mr. Ulin, as English teacher at MA, expressed his support: "This program is excellent. I fully agree with it, seeing the potential of these students will be very beneficial." With approval from various stakeholders, the English Corner activity was scheduled for Saturdays at 1:30 PM in the MA Assathi Hall, with the help of Mrs. Vila, who oversees the curriculum.

The English Corner forum was named "Chat & Learn" "I chose this name because I want this forum to be a medium for sharing and learning in a casual yet educational environment," said Munahiya. The activity has been held four times so far, covering various topics not typically included in the regular curriculum. These include speaking exercises, creating curriculum vitae, tips and tricks for memorizing vocabulary, and making posters with English quotes. The students' participation has been outstanding, with a strong enthusiasm for learning.

At the final meeting, Munahiya, who established and managed the program, formally handed over responsibility to the staff at MTs and MAs. This was symbolized by the transfer of a "Chat & Learn" forum certificate, along with expressions of gratitude for the support and participation thus far. It is hoped that this forum will continue for future generations under the guidance of Mr. Ulin and the principal.
