When you are in Banda Aceh or visiting Acehnese, it is incomplete if you have not visited historical sites located in the city center of  Banda Aceh like the Aceh Museum. The Aceh Museum is located on Alauddin Mahmud Syah street, banda aceh. This museum stores various knick knacks from the history of Aceh since the pre-history era. Such as various types of cooking utensils or household appliances, agricultural equipment, traditional tooling and weapons equipment, loceng, traditional clothes and traditional Acehnese homes.

Aceh Museum was established during the Dutch colonial era before independence. the inauguration was held on July 31, 1915 by the civil governor and military ace general H.N.A Swart. Aceh's house is the first aspect of Aceh's museum. Why? Because in 1915 the first time it was built was the house of Aceh, in the form of an Aceh traditional house or also called "rumoh aceh"  whose existence is still maintained within the museum area to date.

Rumah Aceh is a traditional house of Aceh in the form of a stilt house, made of very strong wood. Aceh's house is painted in very exotic black and red. Carved wood carvings with typical Acehnese motifs adorn inside and outside. In Acehnese society there is no known term customary law. First, to enter the house of Aceh we have to go through the "reunyen" ladder and through the front door which is pushed upward.

The second part of Aceh's house is "rambat" the middle room, namely the connecting room. Creeping is only used for fellow residents. In the crevice of Aceh's house there is a cupboard that contains home appliances

"Rumoh inong" which is the main bedroom is the most important part of the house where Aceh people live.

The third part is the back porch "seramoe likot". in the east, likot ceramoe is used as a kitchen room. And on the western part of the Seramoe Lycot is placed as "perataih" beds and swings for children. The decoration found in the Rumoh Aceh is a common pattern of Aceh traditional wood carving patterns. These are some parts of Aceh's house in the Aceh museum.
