Academic senate (AS) is the most important organization in a world class university with the level of president of university. AS is normally about a key control in observing the academic process in a university. In order to improve the academic progress of an excellent university, AS must play a vital role in achieving regulations of effective academic excellency (AE) of a top university.Â
The quality of a global impacted university normally has many world class scientists supported with sophisticated research laboratories and a sustainable government funding as well as companies partnertships. National university of Singapore (NUS) for instance as the most prominent Asia and Australia university got significant annual 60% grant supports from Singapore government of roughly about 74 trillion rupiah (Indonesia currency).
If one compares to university of Indonesia (UI), its total funding is about 21 times higher. That means that academic excellency (AE) is closely associated with how big the grant used to enhance the higher education, science and technology activities. On the other hand, Pattimura university (UNPATTI) as the largest government university with over 20,000 students from 9 faculties and 1 postgraduate institution in Maluku archipelago province of eastern part of Indonesia has only the total generated funding of ~150 billion rupiah or 23 times lower than that of UI.Â
University of Indonesia located in Jakarta capital city as the first rank of best university in the whole indonesia country or 206th global university rank according to QS university ranking (USA) has one of the best active AS organization with annual meeting of its top 3 types of commission's members about 277 times or almost 76% daily official meeting.
