Spotted Eagle
is a species of bird of prey from the Accipitridae family and the Clanga genus. Called the spotted eagle, it has a scientific name called clanga clanga or Greader Spotted Eagle. This is one type of bird that can be found in Indonesia but is not a resident bird but a migratory bird.
Distribution: The spotted eagle (Aquila clanga) can be found in lowland forests, deciduous forests and wet forests in Asia and Europe. The breeding area is from Finland to China. In winter, spotted eagles migrate to Japan, South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Pakistan and India.

Diet / Feeding: Spotted eagles (Aquila clanga) usually prey on small mammals, frogs, lizards, snakes, fish, dead animals and water rats. The spotted eagle hunts for prey from a perch, flying around, and then swooping down sharply to snatch the prey on the ground. Spotted eagles can also walk on the ground to hunt.
Number Of Young: Spotted eagles usually lay 1 to 3 (usually 2) eggs, incubating for about 42 days. Spotted eagle chicks begin to learn to fly and leave the nest at the age of 63-67 days.
Males And Females: The body weight of male spotted eagles is around 1500 to 1900 grams and females around 1800 to 2500 grams.
Lifespan: Eagles can reach a lifespan of up to 70 years. But reaching that age is a choice for an eagle, whether he wants to live until 70 years or only until 40 years.
Interesting Fact: The dark brown feathers on its body have white spots that form a distinctive pattern. This pattern helps the Spotted Eagle camouflage itself among trees and vegetation when hunting prey.
