I ROTFL-ed watching the video by ANU - The Australian National University titled The Disappearance of Sri, A Play in Javanese. Apparently some bules were taking Javanese major there and they thought that it might be a good idea to learn by doing, i.e by acting in a play written by their lecturer.
I. Can. Die. Laughing. One character suggested that his three friends and him go to someplace by hailing a pedicab. OMG. Even though pedicabs in Jogjakarta (the play's setting) is generally larger than those in Surabaya, I don't think three Caucasians can fit into one pedicab, let alone four!
And though I tried very hard to not laugh at people who are learning new languages, I couldn't help bursting into laughter. It's just... hilarious, listening to a language you grew up with spoken with heavy Australian accent.
"Do you have a crush on Sri?"
"Hor-rrak [no]!"
And I laughed till my tears came out when George Quinn, aka the scenario writer extraordinarie, joined the cast. He spoke excellent Javanese! And didnot even stutter a bit! XD This is too hilarious!
