Jokowi Gives 130,5 M, A Form of Appreciation to Indonesian Athletes who Win The SEA Games Medal in Vietnam

Jakarta - Monday (13/6/2022) President Jokowi gave his appreciation to Indonesian athletes who won the Vietnam SEA Games medal at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta. Indonesia managed to rank third in the 2022 SEA Games in Vietnam.

"Today, we will give the award bonus to the athletes, coaches and assistant coaches. We will give approximately 130.5 billion to the athletes," said Jokowi during the handover at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Monday (13/6). 2022).

Jokowi also expressed his pride for the achievements of the athletes who were sent to the SEA Games Vietnam 2022. A total of 408 athletes won medals in the form of 69 gold, 91 silver and 81 bronze from the 499 athletes sent to the SEA Games Vietnam 2022. This means that 82 percent of Indonesian athletes bring medals to the homeland.

"This morning I am proud, I am happy that of the 499 athletes we sent to the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, all 408 athletes won medals, either gold, silver or bronze. Again out of 499 athletes, 408 earned medals. This means that 82 percent of the athletes we send bring home medals to their homeland," said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi symbolically handed over bonuses to representatives of medal-winning athletes at the SEA Games Vietnam 2022. The bonuses given were:

• The winner of one gold medal gets a bonus of 500 million
• Double gold medal winner gets 400 million bonus
• Holders of one silver medal get a bonus of 300 million
• Double silver medal winners get a bonus of 240 million
• Team silver medal winners get a bonus of 210 million
• The winner of one bronze medal gets a bonus of 150 million
• Double bronze medal winners get 120 million bonus
• The bronze medal winner in the team gets a bonus of 105 million

Jokowi hopes that the bonus given can be a reference for athletes to achieve achievements and can be an inspiration and motivation for other athletes in international events and can make the nation and country proud.
