Recently, well today actually, after a day of hospitalization, my older sister had her surgery. something to do with her womb. i wasn't there when she was in the operation theater. hell, i wouldn't.

i mean, why would you call it "operation theater"? isn't that pretty awful that your insides would have to be cut and poked around, and now you call it "theater"? who would enjoy such view? or are the doctors insane and have come to feel the joy of seeing someone's inside?

well, it couldn't have gotten worse. combine "operation" and "theater"!

what's worse than that for someone who's being cut inside.

first, operation really comes from the word "opera", now you start seeing the irony. okay, at that time, the word opera did not take the present meaning as in play performance or as in medical surgery after it got stuck with suffix "-tion". it truly meant "work".

so, well i really come to sense, and understand that it is really "work" that those doctors are doing in the room, then, i am somehow relieved. but, i'm not there yet. this word "theater", from greek theatron, was really a place too see, a place for viewing.

"for your viewing pleasure, we've come in 3D, please enjoy the view of how this guy's belly is cut."

how's that for an ad just in front of the Operation Theater?

Operation Theater.

cut the ideas off 'opera' and 'theater', of entertainment world, and see the real deal: a place to see the work.

A Place To See The Work.

sounds better? you gotta be kidding. As if the sound of opera and play performance is not enough, now you doctors get to have people see you work. how narcissistic that actually sounds?

okay, i'm done. I shouldn't have thought about this and got back in the room to see how my sister's doing with her post-surgery. (yes, i'm not saying "operation".. wait, what's the origin of the word "surgery", anyway, i'm curious...)
