Chairman of the Papuan Tribal Council Forkorus Yaboisembut said, the people of Papua plans to hold the Papuan Congress III. Congress is scheduled to be held on upcoming 16 to 19 October 2011. The theme that will be raised in the Congress is "Let Us Uphold the Fundamental Rights of Papuans Indigenous People for the Present Time and The Future". Sub-theme of the congress is "Building an Honest, Fair, and Comprehensive Understanding for The Fundamental Rights of Papuans Indigenous People, Including the Political Rights in The Future, which is Fair, Democratic, Safe, Peaceful, Prosperous and Dignity".

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Executive Committee Selfius Bobii said, regarding issues with the plans for Papuan Congress III, executive committee and representatives of Papuans people will try to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The government needs to be informed regarding the plans of Papuan people to hold the Papuan Congress III.

Currently there are various groups in Papua that are trying to separate Papua from the Republic of Indonesia. Among them, several are consider being dangerous and armed, and as the other groups also tried using method of demonstrations, holding seminars, forum discussion group both within the country and abroad. This type of mass mobilization activities, called as Congress, is considered by them to be more effective and potential to get support from the Papuan peoples and the international community.

We need to keep in it mind that the result of this Congress will be very useful, if the aims of the Congress is to find an agreed solution for Papua to catch up the pace of development with the other regions in Indonesia. Besides that, the Congress would also be very supported by the Government if one of goals is to discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of the Special Autonomy area status for Papua, so that in the future it is possible make repairs and adjustments of the Special Autonomy area status for Papua, as a means to make a better and prosperous Papua.

However, if the true goal of the Congress is intended to demand that Papua to be separated from the Republic of Indonesia, as a sovereign country, then we should fight and reject it. Because legally, Papua is a part of Indonesia and we need to be protect it from any threats that try to separate it from its Mother, Indonesia.
