Pop means Popular

You either love Pop or you hate Pop.

In the industry, only 1 thing matters, Hits!

You have a Hit or you don’t.

That’s all that matters. Nothing else.

Black…or White!

Anyone who is born post 1995 is so called the Digital Generation.

For the benefit of the Digital Generation, you are experiencing something that will only happen once in your life. For you to understand what your parents, brothers/sisters, uncles/aunts, teachers and coaches, or basically anyone born before you are making such a fuss about, over the sudden death of Michael Jackson, so that you can appreciate what’s going on, you need to understand the Icon, The Star, The Musicion, The Center of Attentio, The King of Pop himself. No other artist will ever, ever, ever reach the total ammount of business derived from his Hits. I repeat no one!

Michael Jackson lived in the era of the highest physical sales ever reached.

His work was frist introduced and played during the time when music was still played using the Turn Table.

Then he started landing hits exactly during the introduction of the first mass produced listening device, the Stereo HiFi, playing a small, pocket sized weird looking thing called the Cassette.

Then from the same cassette format, he was the King of Sales for the first Mobile Music Device (your Ipod today) or The Sony Walkman (whoa…roller skates and all…)

Then he was still the King when the first digital format music product was released, the Compact Disc.

And since the last 10 years, he was always the top selling Artist on digital downloads.

As per today I Pop him as The King of Digital format as well.

He will be forever the biggest artist to sell music on line.

As far as Audio Visual, from the Betamax format, to the VHS, to the Laser Disc, VCD then DVD, there were never any concert/video materials that came close to Michael Jackson’s Videos and Concerts.

Now, you can subscribe, rent, download or pay per view all his music works from your PC/Mobile device.

Being King over a change of 4 music formats will only be enjoyed by Michael Jackson, and nobody else.

Nothing else matters, but Hits!

So, if Pop is still an uncool thing for you, and you think you can make it in the music industry, The King of Pop has made his point!

Make the hit, and the format, distribution and money, will come by it self. There is no hit which is not Pop. So whatever idealisme in music, Indie, Rap, Hip Hop, Dance, Rock, its not a hit until it is called Popular.

And when it is Popular, you are Pop.

The King of Pop is dead.

Watch and learn from the King.

Its a business! You are the factory, your songs are the product.

I love Pop!

Pop is $$$$$$.
