After its premiere, Bridgerton became a global hit and reached 63 million views worldwide within the first four weeks. So the question is, what made 'Bridgerton' so loved by many people?

It is no secret that this show was based on one of the highest-selling novels namely 'The Duke and I'. The writer, Julia Quinn is a 51 years old New York Times bestselling author. She has published more than 30 books including the Bridgerton series. Like any other novel series, Bridgerton novels already have a fanbase, which helps the show rise into stardom.

Even though this period drama takes place in 1813, Bridgerton's taste for music is definitely far from old-fashioned. For those who have watched the show, it is obvious that Lady Whistledown has a major Gossip Girl Vibe. She knows all of the ton's secrets and managed to get everyone's attention, all while keeping her identity a secret. She frequently writes about scandals that happen during the London season and her gossip sheets quickly gained power over everyone. Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) also acted as the narrator of the series, just like Kristen Bell in Gossip Girl.
