So how now, brethren? When you come together, let each one offering something: that a psalm, another instruction, or the revelation of God, or the gift of tongues, or the gift for the interpretation of tongues, but they should be used to build
(1 Corinthians 14:26).
Every Christian who lives in the Lord must have a spiritual gift from God. The gift that comes from God is given to someone not without purpose or just an empty thing without any usefulness. No! But throughout the history of Christianity we can see how spiritual gifts are used to bless many people in particular within the scope of God's people. Therefore, in our current context everyone who has a spiritual gift (whatever it is) should not to be saved but to be used.Then, in the use of spiritual gifts themselves whether it is based on willpower alone have it? Not really! When we use the spiritual gifts it is wise to speak of our underlying the word of God who spoke about it in 1 Cor. 14:26-40. In the word of God we can find two things from the advice of Paul to the Corinthians.First, spiritual gifts should be used with the intent to build (v. 26-28). Paul said that for every gift that is in the church at Corinth whether tongues, interpretation of tongues, teaching, revelation and the others let them be used solely to build up the church of God. Not for its own sake let alone to disombongkan. That's what happens between the Corinthians that Paul advised them like this.And second, spiritual gifts should be used with the orderly (v. 29-33). Paul also advised the Corinthians in order when they use spiritual gifts in the church let it be used in a way which is orderly. This is said because the reality in the midst of the Corinthian church there is chaos and confusion that arises when ironically the church is using their spiritual gifts. Paul says that God does not want confusion but of peace.Learning from the experience of the Corinthians this then let us also the church God wants to use our gift from God if it plays music, praise God, dancing for the Lord, preaching, intercession or other gifts.
