How do we solve this problem then? Well, issuing laws that helps the regulation of animal treatment in these farms would significantly help, as long as the regulations can be enforced. However, we could also try more esoteric solutions. One that I had in mind was cultured meat; meat that's produced by in vitro cell culture. There is still a lot of kinks to the technology, but I can envision a future where cultured meat is a viable alternative to normal meat.
As a bonus, I would also dismiss work and put the entire country on holiday, including school, so that everyone can catch a break from the monotony of society and really take their time alone to really ponder upon their thoughts and feelings.
