Public speaking is an important element of diplomacy and it can't be separated from diplomacy.
To be understood as a public speaker:
1. please do fix your appearance; formal outfits are recommended.
2. Watch your gesture and mostly watch your tone and articulation. Tone and articulation is two of the most fundamental aspects of public speaking.
3. More importantly, your voice should reach the back of the room.
4. Use the right gestures at the right moment, don't over-do the gestures.
You need to draft your speech before your presentation.
Make 2 drafts: one for yourself which contains only a few points of your speech. Don't put too much elements on your 1st draft. Your 2nd draft should contain the full summary of your speech so you can evaluate it and probably could use it for your future presentations.
The thing about public speaking is being persuasive. You persuasive others to do things by your speech.
