Wahhabism in Two Perspectives

Wahhabism has 2 views on its impact. From the first view, the positive impact that Wahabi exerted in his political thought on the government of Ibn Saud was that the power of the masses possessed by Abdul Wahab as the originator was very much at that time So that Ibn Saud took advantage of his opportunity in seeking votes to gain power in the Arabian Peninsula area which included the 2 holy cities of the Islamic Ummah, the city of Makkah and the city of Medina which became a strategic place in seeking success in the future.

The negative impact of the above events, the impact is very wide, even in all regions that have Muslim communities, for example, Indonesia. Indonesia gave birth to several perspectives, the most striking perspective is the reaction of the conventional Islamic community which is still used by the majority of Muslim communities in Indonesia, especially from members of the Nahdhatul Ulama organization which still adheres to traditional or conventional Islam. They strongly oppose Wahhabi teachings that consider other teachings are wrong, for example, the actions of the Wahabis who want to destroy the tombstone of the Prophet and the two companions around him. At its peak, NU sent a delegation of the Hejaz Committee to resolve the problem with the agreement that Wahhabi would not destroy the tombs inside the Prophet's mosque.

For the second view, the positive impact we feel as Muslims who want to worship in Haramain is felt more freely because the teachings adopted by Wahabi are beneficial to the provider of the place to ensure the smooth worship of all Muslims. Imagine if conventional Islam is still applied in the land of Haramain, thousands of people worship around the background of the mosque to worship there for a very long time and in the right place (doing mauled for example), you can imagine how difficult people are in carrying out their worship because they do not get the proper space. 

The negative impact is for Muslim communities who still adhere to teachings other than Wahhabi teachings still feel intimidated when carrying out their conventional culture in areas where Wahhabi teachings have been used, for example in the land of Haramain. Conventional Islamic societies are still often accused of heresy. This Wahabi community is too extreme in applying their teachings, causing various reactions from people other than Wahhabism. In fact, despite the discoveries they made in their political order some adhere to liberalism which violates the existing rules of Islam.

Wahhabi ideas have had a profound impact on Islamic politics in some of the world's most populous countries. Some Wahhabi supporters regard it as an endeavor to maintain the purity of Islamic values in politics and to deliver stability and justice to society. Wahhabi ideas, on the other hand, are condemned for having a restricted and restrictive definition of religion, which can stifle diversity, religious freedom, and inclusive political engagement. Wahhabi-inspired social and political policies have also sparked debate and been chastised for limiting human rights, especially the rights of religious minorities and freedom of expression. Furthermore, some fear using Wahhabi dogmas in politics may fuel radicalization and extremism, as well as influence attitudes toward minority groups and women.
