The Walking Dead is Real, Globalisation Cannot Change The Culture of Indonesia

All living things will die, but we never know when it happened, where it will happen. We know and believe just one thing that only after death no one can live again or doing everyday activities. But the phenomenon of walking dead was actually happening and the unique is phenomenon occurred in the country I live in, Indonesia.

Indonesia is known for many cultures and never change although this century always talking about globalization, this walking dead phenomenon precisely in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi. Toraja is actually having a traditions and one of the tradition is prettify the corpse just like when there was alive. This tradition name is Ma’nene,Namely to commemorate the ancestors, relatives, and friends who have died first.

Until now, Ma’nene tradition held Baruppu people in Toraja still routinely maintained as their heritage. In addition, the rituals are performed annually in the month of August is interpreted as interpreted as closeness, kinship among their citizen. This tradition has become a customary rule unwritten always be obeyed by every citizen.

Ma’nene tale begins from an animal hunter named Pong Rumasek, hundreds of years ago. At that time, he was hunting in mountainous forest areas Balla, Narrated in the middle of the hunt, Pong Rumasek, Toraja citizen, found the body of someone who died. The bodies were lying in the middle of the road in the dense forest and the conditions are deplorable.

His body was skeletal; the heart of Pong Rumasek is intrigued. He wants to take care of the corpse. The bodies were wrapped in clothes. Having considered safe, Pong Rumasek then resume the hunt. Since that incident, whenever the target Pong hunt, he was always easy to get it, including fruits in the forest. Strange events recur when Pong Rumasek home. Agricultural crops abandoned, suddenly harvest more quickly than time. In fact, the results are abundant.

Pong Rumasek also concluded that the bodies of those who died should remain glorified, even though it was only staying bones.
