The Best Tourist Spots in Banda Aceh

   Banda Aceh is the capital and largest city in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. It is located on the island of sumatra and has elevation of 35 kilometers. It is called "Serambi Mekkah", in reference to the days when hajj pilgrims travelled by sea from Indonesia and would make a stop over in the city before continuing their journey to Mecca.

     Banda aceh keeps a lot of history. We can see historical places that are saved by Acehnese. The first famous places in Banda Aceh is The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. It is located in the centre of Banda Aceh. The mosque is a culture heritage since 1612, which is still standing firmly and one of the buildings that survived from tsunami disaster. It is cozy place for praying, reciting the holy quran, or sometimes tourist spend their times go around the mosque. Baiturrahman's architecture are detailed and beautiful on the wall and door. It  is a proud mosque of the Acehnese. 

     The second place is The Acerh Tsunami Museum, if you visit Banda Aceh dont forget to come to this building because The Tsunami Meseum has a symbol that remind us to the earthquake and tsunami disaster. The design of building is unique. It has shaped like ship but if we see from the top of the building it looks like tsunami wave. The Aceh Tsunami Museum functions as a memorial monument and use for escape building.

     Another destinations in Banda Aceh is Lampuuk Beach. Lampuuk beach is the closest beach to Banda Aceh, around 25 minutes drive from the centre of city. the beach is one of the destinations in Banda Aceh. The beaches are connected and cover over 5 kilometers. it has a beautiful beach with white sand and clear watersea. At the western side of the bay is a large carpark area which has loads of food stalls and restaurant. In lampuuk beach we can do swimming, surfing, and riding a banana boat. Many foreign tourist come and spend their time especially on the weekend this area is crowded by local people and tourits to enjoy the view.
