Mostly people in Indonesia like baso. Baso is one of very famous food in this country. In english may be it can be said as meat ball. The taste is very delicious and make people feel full enough to eat it in the afternoon or in the night.
In this article, I would like to share my experience today when making baso. At last night, my wife asked me that she want to make baso tomorrow. I just said "yes, ok. I will buy for you the ingredients tomorrow morning". In the morning, I went to the nearest traditional market near my house. I bought a pound of beef and 100 grams of meat veins. Then I bought 300 grams of tapioca flour, a sachet of food flavouring 'masako' and then, 50grams garlic, a sachet of chocolate milk, and also 1 sachet of fried red onion, also 1 piece of egg.
After that, all of the ingredients was grinded in a grinding workshop in the market, except the veins meat which only be cutted in small piece. After that, the grinded component is combined with meat veins when I arrived at home.
At home, I switch on stove and then I boil water in a pan. The water need only quite hot after that switch off the stove. Make a meat ball using hand and spoon. And place the ball on the pan. After all the component is finished to be ball, switch on again the stove and boil the meat ball about half hour to an hour until the ball is riped.
After that the baso is ready to serve and some can be saved in the freezer.
What a happy time when cooking the mbaso. Until I realize that we all had not been taking breakfast until 11.am.
That is my experience. I hope some of you get the idea how to make baso. Food that many people love very much.
