To gain insights into the experiences and perspectives of young people in Surabaya regarding climate change, I interviewed a student from the city.
Balqis Naura, as a student, expressed concern about the extreme weather changes occurring in Surabaya. She witnessed firsthand the impact of floods, heatwaves, and air pollution on their daily activities. Balqis Naura also mentioned the need for greater awareness and action on climate change among both individuals and governments.
Climate change is an urgent issue facing Surabaya. This city is experiencing rising temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, and rising sea levels, which have significant impacts on the environment, economy, and public health. Addressing climate change requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach involving governments, communities, and individuals. By implementing adaptation measures and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Surabaya can build resilience and create a sustainable future for its citizens.
