Recent terror attacks in Brussels and other parts of the world including my own country Indonesia have made my heart broken into pieces.
Last year when were at the Turkish Airport, there was an Arab man who was just finished praying in the Musholla and came to me and my kids. The man spoke to me in Arabic, I replied, "sorry but I don't understand". With no care whether I understood him or not, he threw his jacket/suit that somehow hit my son who was playing on the chair. He sat down and put on his shoes and did not say sorry at all.
Not long after, my husband came as he just finished praying too and luckily saw what happened. He got angry and raised his voice to that man and said, "Where is your respect for Woman and children?".
The Arab man did not understand English and so a stranger translated him but his reaction was odd, instead of apologize that man took off quickly.
Most of Turkish people I have met during our journey were really lovely people. They loved children and helped us with our baggage voluntarily. We traveled Emirates, Qatar, but for the first time with Turkish Airlines and as a family - we treated like priority. So the terrorist incidents in Turkey recently have also broken my heart - remembering those nice people we have met during our journey.
Then the Arab man showed up with his bad attitude just after he pleased God made me think why would he tried so hard to please God while he has no heart towards other human being. Islam is a peaceful religion.
I'm not saying all Arabs are bad, but few times I encountered unfriendly situations with them and mostly are with the men.
And so with the heavy flow of refugees from conflicted Arab countries entering Europe has become a problem for everyone. The reason is because the radicals /terrorists see this as a good chance to camouflage and later do their inhuman actions.
People including kids in problematic Arab countries have witnessed how their parents have been killed, thus, left trauma and probably resentment too. We never know who will be kind and who will take revenge. It may be someone who probably not Arab, never been in a war but easily influence and able to carry out terror attacks. For God, for money, for brotherhood and for whatever it is - any of their killings, any of war will never be justified.
For sure the number of islamophobia will increase, create more difficulties for other good Muslims, I’m talking about the regular Muslim people who want to live side by side peacefully (not radical, not extremist) around the globe especially in Europe to live their daily routine. Terrorists do not care about that, they just care about killing the innocents.
It’s a problem, a lesson, a message to stop a war…stop killing…each government should work as a team not only do what benefit their party the most.
