Taman Krida Budaya Against The Pandemic

Krida Budaya Park is a special place for appreciation of cultural preservation in East Java and is supported by Suhat Street Food which is in front of this park. From 2020, Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food Suhat have undergone various changes due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. 

This change occurred because of the impact experienced by everyone, especially Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food which were open places and had to be temporarily closed due to limited interaction of people to reduce the spread of the virus in March 2020 until October 2021.

These changes also occur through phases that make Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food Suhat look more attractive. Because the occurrence of these changes does not make any difference in the functions of these two places that are interconnected, but the changes in this place do not eliminate their distinctive features. 

Krida Budaya Park is still known as a place that often displays the results of cultures, especially East Java, for example ketoprak, lumping horses, ballet, wayang kulit and many more.

 Likewise with Street Food Suhat which continues to sell foods that can be eaten while watching the performances displayed at Taman Krida Budaya. It can be seen from the type of food, the vendors sell many local specialties such as tahu petis, leker, lumpia, siomay and many other types of regional food.

This pandemic resulted in the reduction of activities that occurred at Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food Suhat. During the pandemic, they stopped all kinds of activities that should have been carried out, both by the management of Krida Budaya Park who stopped performing arts and also street vendors selling in front of Krida Budaya Park. 

One of the biggest impacts and the reason for stopping activities at this place is because the government has closed the road that leads to Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food Suhat because these places are considered the center of the crowd. This decision was made to limit interaction and to prevent transmission caused by Covid 19.

Over time, the pandemic began to subside and activities that are usually held, both art performances and selling have been carried out as normal. The phase we are currently experiencing is an endemic period. This endemic phase has made changes in this activity, which was previously slowly stopped, now it has been implemented as it should. 

Now Taman Krida Budaya has reopened public access to be able to watch art performances at Taman Krida Budaya while still obeying the health protocols, as well as Street Food in front of this park which has started operating normally. The traders can sell their food freely but still pay attention to the cleanliness in their place of selling, especially when they sell food that will be served to buyers.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, which was the most difficult period, Taman Krida Budaya and Street Food Suhat did not give up because of contrasting changes. This place further enhances promotion and helps regional MSMEs by providing job vacancies for anyone. This place also increases tourists and local residents' wants to visit these places because these two places support each other's activities.
