"Did you hear that?" Said the tree,
"The ground is weeping, their voice scratching like a mad cat locked in a cage"
the man replied, "I hear nothing, friend, perhaps you've made a mistake,
it could be the wind, calling your leaves to dance,
or the streaming river, begging your roots to ease its rage"
"No, listen, they're calling, they're mad at me, why are they mad at me?" Cried the tree
"I've told you, friend, I hear nothing"
"No, it can't be, I am but a tree, my kind belong here"
The man nodded, "Ah, I hear it now, it was of my people,
the scream, I could almost taste it, like a blade passing through my throat"
