I want to give a brief overview of women's status and role in Islam from ancient to the present in the final section of this essay. Before the advent of Islam, women were worthless, helpless, and undervalued in ancient times. But when Islam arrived, it brought new light for women. Women now have more and broader rights. For in reality, men and women are equal in the sight of Islam. Every human has the right to govern themselves; the only thing that separates them is how obediently they choose to act.
