Maybe we have heard about programming languages, but have you ever asked what programming languages are? According to Wikipedia, "programming languages is a system of notation for writing computer programs." According to me, a programming language is a language written by humans that are intended for a computer program to do something as instructed in the program. Firstly programming languages were created by women. That's why programming languages are difficult because of that. Just kidding.

Computers, cell phones, even printers, air conditioners, remotes, and other electronic devices that have a CPU, all of which are programmed and written using programming languages. But every device may use different programming languages. There are so many kinds of programming languages that have different syntaxes, different laws, different purposes, and more. But here, I will tell you some of the types of programming languages that I know and are pretty famous for now.

First, the most popular programming language, Python, is the most ease to read, write, and understand code and is usually used for desktop apps, games, and even for creating AI. Python was created by Guido van Rossum and was first released on 20th February 1991. Python is an interpreted programming language, meaning the code we type will be executed on every line and does not need to be compiled to run.

Second, JavaScript is a programming language that is most used for web development, game development, and building web servers. According to Stack Overflow's 2020 Developer Survey, JavaScript is the most commonly-used language in the world, followed by HTML or CSS, SQL, Python, and Java.

Third, Java is the programming language that is most used for app development. Applications that are made are usually for the Android operating system and the builder application that is famous today is Android Studio.

Then, we have C# (C Sharp), which is the programming language that is most used for game development especially desktop games or desktop apps for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux operating systems.

There are still many programming languages and they have their strengths and weaknesses. Like TypeScript, Perl, Rust, C, C++, SQL (for the database), Ruby, Delphi, Swift, Kotlin, R, Scala, and more.

After knowing the types of programming languages, you may ask, "Should we learn about programming languages?". In this article, I will share with you some reasons why we should learn about programming languages. I say "should" not "must", so learning programming languages is not a compulsion.

Technology at this time is very broad and this programming can not be separated from this technology. In fact, this programming is in great demand by many people around the world. With you knowing the programming languages, you will have more career opportunities and an interesting fact, the salary for programmers is quite large for now because it is so needed by big companies.

Not only that, but programming languages can also improve problem-solving skills because the essence of programming is to create problems and solve them with our own logic and algorithms. Also, programming languages can improve your creativity such as GUI design, code algorithm, and more!
