"Supporting Safer Internet Day 2019: Together for a Better Internet"

The SID 2019 has successfully celebrated in Indonesia, due to Chinese New Year celebration, the SID's discussion placed at Tuang Coffee on 4th February 2019 at 6.30pm in South Jakarta.

Discussion was held with "Together for a Better Internet" theme, supported by Infonesia; an Indonesian Q&A mobile application with voice-based technology, Lexar; a tech-enabled legal startup focuses on simplifying legal administration processes and IGF Indonesia. It was well-attended by representative from Youtube #CreatorsforChange, Cybersecurity expert from Bina Nusantara University, NGOs in media literacy, IT law students from Bina Nusantara and Universitas Indonesia.

Discussion was focusing with prevalence and impact of Cyberbullying among Indonesian youth, we were all agreed on the urgency to focus on digital literacy, in which need to be added and implemented in Indonesian education curriculum as early as possible and promoting parental involvement in preventing and responding cyberbullying.

All the participants were showing huge enthusiasm in 3 hours discussion. Each of them went back with a red goodie bag from Indosat, Social media-comic book and internet savvy flyers from Ministry of Communication and Information of Indonesia.

Youth IGF Indonesia is now hoping to have long-lasting and future collaboration with all the participants and supporters, also continuing to provide open platform to discuss internet-related issues for Indonesian youth.
