Celebration of Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia

Eid al-Fitr is one of the islamic holiday which celebrated once every year, Precisely on the 1st of Shawwal (islamic calendar).  Eid al-Fitr celebrated after muslim doing fasting for a month. During Eid, Muslims will apologize and forgive each other. This is why it is called "eid al fitr" which means "return to purity" because by forgiving each other everyone becomes holy again without sin.

Indonesia is country which the majority of the population is Muslim. Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. This makes the celebration of Islamic days very felt in Indonesia, such as the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

In Indonesia, there is always an Eid holiday every year. so that everyone can celebrate Eid. There are several things that are identical with Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia. The night before Eid there is always takbiran whether it is in the mushola, mosque or on the street. This makes the Eid atmosphere so festive. There are several special Eid al-Fitr foods such as ketupat, lontong, and opor ayam.
