Radin Inten II The Hero of Lampung

RADIN Inten II or Radin Inten II is the son of Radin Inten Kesuma II and grandson of Radin Inten I. He was born in the village of Kuripan, now known as Lampung in 1834. He is a descendant of blue blood who are siblings with the kingdom of Banten. Radin Inten includes a Dutch opponent who colonized our country. He does not want the existence of colonialism in the land of the earth. He is known as a leader and warlord who not only has a strong physical, but also a brilliant mind.

Radin Inten II was officially crowned as Queen Lampung, the leader of the people to fight against colonialism at a young age, at the age of 16 years. He was inaugurated in 1850, and afterwards he was immediately confronted with the Dutch attack along with hundreds of his soldiers in the area of Merambung, where Radin Inten ran the wheels of royal government. From several times the Dutch attack, Radin Inten troops can always frustrate.

The Dutch believe, as long as Radin Inten II is still in power, their position in Lampung will remain threatened. However, before the start of new attacks, the Dutch tried to divide the people of Lampung. The one group is pitted against the other. Among the people, there was an atmosphere of mutual suspicion.

On August 10, 1856 Dutch troops departed from Batavia with several warships. The army was led by Colonel Welson and consisted of infantry, artillery and genius troops accompanied by a large number of porters. The next day they landed at Canti pier. Their strength increases with the joining forces of Prince Perfect White Jaya, Lampung nobleman who had sided with the Dutch. Singaberanta has moved his troops elsewhere.

Until October 1856, two and a half months the Netherlands launched a military operation. One by one the fortress of Radin Inten II they managed to sit. However, Radin Inten II still has not been caught. Meanwhile, the Netherlands got reports that Radin Inten II had gone to the northern part of Lampung, crossing the Seputih Way. Another news reported that Singaberanta was on Sebesi Island.

At the time Radin Inten ate the food, he was suddenly attacked by Radin Ngerapat and his men. An unbalanced fight ensued. The Dutch soldier came out of his hiding place and raided Radin Inten II. Radin Inten II was killed in the fight. That night his bloody corpse was also shown to Colonel Welson.

Radin Inten II was killed for treason committed by his compatriots at a very young age, 22 years old. He died on October 5, 1856.
