Storytelling is an activity to express a feeling that we are experiencing or we feel to other
people. Storytelling can be one way to eliminate or reduce some of the burden that is on us.
But we can't tell stories to random people, we have to tell stories to people we trust.
The goal is not only to keep what we convey from spreading widely, but also to minimize bad
responses for us. because the people closest to us will always think about and take care of our
feelings and always support us.
Sadly, not everyone can easily convey what they feel and think. moreover, if you have to talk
to other people. It might be difficult. However, did you know that keeping things to yourself
can actually make feelings uncertain and increase the risk of mental health problems.
when experiencing problems or under pressure, it's perfectly normal for a person to start
withdrawing and become quieter than usual. Generally, people who experience problems find
it difficult when they have to convey what they feel and feel they can solve problems on their
own. However, it turns out that this can actually make things worse, especially when it comes
to mental health.
Some of the benefits that can be obtained from confiding with friends are giving a sense of
calm, not feeling alone, feeling supported by people around, preventing making the condition
worse, finding the right help and treatment to overcome problems without disturbing mental
health, and finding solutions from people around who may have experienced something
similar. The first thing you can do to make telling stories more comfortable is to find a friend
or family member you can trust. A good friend will usually always be honest, provide support
when needed, willing to listen to stories, and can be trusted.
Having a good friend in fact is not only useful when you need a place to vent, but can also
help maintain mental health. A good friend can accompany when celebrating happiness and
still be there to support when facing problems and bad conditions. Besides being able to
avoid feeling lonely, a good friend can also:
Gives meaning and makes you understand the meaning of presence and the purpose of living
life, this is good as a reminder when facing problems.

Improve mood, make happy, and reduce the risk of stress or depression.
Increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
Helping to deal with and overcome trauma, serious mental disorders, and other bad
experiences that are currently or have been experienced.
Support lifestyle changes to become healthier, especially lifestyles that can increase
the risk of mental health disorders.
If you are still unsure and feel afraid to confide in person, you can prepare a number of things
before doing so. Apart from talking face to face, you can still pour out your heart over the
phone, send short messages or chat, to write letters. Choose the method that is most
comfortable for you and doesn't make you feel more depressed.
Also, make sure to find the right time to tell a friend. That way, you don't feel intrusive and
can get your friends' full attention. Both feel comfortable. As preparation, you can also
practice whatever you want to tell. But keep in mind, it doesn't matter if you can only tell a
few parts. Do not push yourself.
