TAK ada ketentuan pasti, fitur-fitur apa saja yang mesti ada pada sebuah Online Newsroom. Tapi, secara umum, konten standarnya, mengutip Thomas H. Bivins (2005), adalah sebagai berikut:

- Personal contact information: the name, address, email, phone number, fax number, cell phone number of your primary media contacts should be easy to locate. If you have an instant messaging ID, put it in there, too.
- Press release: place press release in chronological order. Keep traditional press release formating and use easy-to-read fonts.
- Executive photos, product photos, charts, graphs, and other appropriate artwork: make sure that your pitch letters and press release provide links to the appropriate artwork on your site.
- Backgrounders, executive bios, white papers, investor relations information, fact sheets, speeches, awards, and streaming media of press conferences, product demonstrations, president’s speeches, and so on.
- Search tool: make it easy for journalists to find just what they want, by making all your press materials fully searchable
- Video content: video are making inroads in online newsroom
