Exploring The Symbolism of Tunas Kelapa: The Emblem of Scout Movements in Indonesia

Scout movements in Indonesia have an emblem with the icon coconut shoot called Tunas Kelapa. This icon has been corresponding to Kwartir Nasional Decree number 06/KN/72. The emblem shape is a circle with a brown background color which means physical and spiritual maturity, maturity and steadfastness. In the center there is the Tunas Kelapa symbol, this figure points to the star in the upper which represents that scout has a high aspiration. Between the Tunas Kelapa there is an article "Gerakan Pramuka" which refers to this organization as the only scouting education forum in Indonesia. The Tunas Kelapa is surrounded by ten wheels which represent the Dasa Darma Pramuka, which is the ten things that scouts must do. On the right side there is a curve of cotton that symbolizes cloth, and on the left there is a curve of rice that symbolizes food. The last is in the lower emblem there are five stars which refer to Pancasila, which is the foundation of the Indonesian state. The figure is colored by yellow or golden yellow which means the brightness of life that leads to greatness and nobility.
