As we know that our nation is, the nation of Indonesia is a religious nation. Religious life has always existed in Indonesia. This is evidenced by the animism and dinamism beliefs of the Indonesian community of antiquity. Animism believes that there are ghost and spirits around us whereas the dynamism that believes in the existence of abstract power that dwells on an object. We still remember that in the first principle it reads that the essence of Indonesia recognizes the existence of God Almighty. Animism and dynamism beliefs existed long before religion entered Indonesia.
Even the entry of the first religion in Indonesia that is Hindu, animism and dynamism have been there first and growing. There are many examples of historic relics that prove that animism and dynamism are firmly entrenched in the life of Indonesian society. In Indonesia alone there are several religions and laws of Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism and Konghuchu. Earlier during the reign of President Soeharto, Konghuchu was not regarded as a legitimate religion.
As well as their religious freedom is curbed. Including in terms of worship, the construction of places of worship as well as their arts. They are prohibited from holding religious events openly and doing art activities in the open. But as the times progressed in the reform era, Konghuchu became recognized as one of the legitimate religions in Indonesia. In this course I learned a lot about all religions in Indonesia. Everyone asks questions about Catholicism and Protestantism. not the same? same worship of Jesus.
In Christianity, the Supreme God consists of three persons, God the Father, the Son of God (Isa) and the Holy God, known as the Trinity, the first "enacted" by Paul. It was he who abolished and created the new Shari'ah taught by Moses as the most respected and exalted Prophet of the Children of Israel.
Most think that Catholicism and Protestantism are the same. here I will explain the vast differences between Catholics and Protestants. Catholic is an adjective derived from Greek, is katholikos means "general; universal ", in the sense of the church for all. In Catholic Sculptures and Drawings are allowed to be used in prayer, but are limited to the source of inspiration, not to pray to the statue / figure.
While in Protestant Christianity, it is not used at all sculptures and pictures at the time of prayer. Pray only pure directly to Jesus. In the Catholic church there are altars, statues, pulpits, tabernacles, benches and fours kneeling, Whereas, in the Christian church there are only benches, pulpits of the word and place of praise. The cross in the Catholic corpus (statue of the body of Christ), Being in Christian only cross.
Catholic and Protestant Christians have the same scriptures, the Bible. But the Bible alone has little difference in the Deuterocanonical book. The Catholic Bible lists this book while the Protestants do not. The deuterocanonical book itself is a term used to describe the book of the old covenant which is not from the present Hebrew Bible. In Catholicism, religious leaders are required by men. Women are respected but cannot become religious leaders, they can become nuns. In Catholic religious leaders are not allowed to marry. Everyone who wants to become a religious leader must live celibate. If one day they want to marry and marry, they can no longer be religious leaders and have to go out to become common people.
Protestant religious leaders can marry and marry like people in general. They can also have other jobs than to be pastors, unlike the priest who has to be a full-time monk. An important figure of the Catholic religion is the pope. This is the leader of the religion that is considered a high teaching authority. Many who follow this religion learn the significance of helping others less fortunate or weak.
Catholics learn that suffering is a way God helps his children learn and is a form of being tested. This is believed to help strengthen faith in Him. The bible is another important aspect of the religion. In general, the way of worship between Catholics and Protestants is also different. Catholics pray by first making the sign of the cross by touching the forehead, chest, left and right shoulders in a sequence using the index finger, while the Protestants do not perform the ritual when praying. In addition to the time of prayer, Catholics and Protestant differences also exist in the mention of their worship.
Catholic worship is called Mass, while Protestant worship is called worship. Despite having a different name, same as done on Sunday. in the Catholic religion worship Sunday quiet and solemn. while in Protestant Christianity add musical instruments and other loudspeakers to praise the god. in the ordinance of worship, Catholicism has a "liturgical calendar" in which all the prayers and songs that will be brought to all Catholic churches in the world are the same at the time of worship.
while protestants do not, they have no liturgical calendars like catholic. The Catholic Church teaches that at the last supper with His disciples, when Jesus says the words of consecration, "Take and eat, this is My body which is given for you!" There was a change in the bread, that bread became the Body of Christ.
