Iran-Indonesia Trade Negotiation

The First meeting of the Trade Negotiation Committee [FTNC] between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Indonesia was held in Medan, on November 25th – 26th, 2010. Two delegations through fruitful negotiations agreed in order to pave the way for Free Trade Agreement between two countries, to accelerate the finalization of Preferential Trade Agreement Negotiation which has been started since 2006.

In the first meeting of FTNC, two sides agreed on many points and which are reflected in the agreed minutes. By the agreed points between two sides, Iran and Indonesia have planned to conclude the Preferential Trade Agreement by 2011. In FTNC, Indonesia Delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Gusmardi Bustami, Director General for International Trade Cooperation, Ministry of Trade and the Delegation of Iran was headed by H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Farazandeh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Indonesia. The trade between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Indonesia in recent years has been growing and the two sides expect that the joint trade in 2011 will reach to US$1 billion.
