I met you when people were wearing jackets.

When I met you my face was still weary,

I looked your eyes when my eyes were still shy,

you stood in that corner and smiled,

wearing hat like a little angel.

I want you to keep sitting on that sofa,

listening to the rock music chase away the loneliness.

I want you to keep sittingon the sofa,

Under the June lamplight.

Don’t leave or move,I’ll get a glass of water for you.

If you leave the lamp will go out,

The sofa will be lonely, the paint on the

Wall will fade.

The paintingswill cry, there will be no life

and no tomorrow.

Don’t you leave my little sister,

I still want to look into your eyes.

The room still longs for your presence,

Your name is beautiful like a character in a novel.

Forgot all of that my little sister,

pretend I was never hare this morning,

Call me a monkey or any other animal that you like,

Invite me to see the lights in the city of Melbourne.

Teach me the language of the street,

I will light a candle for you.

Teach me about Japanese cooking and Australian culture,

I will open the garden gate for you.

Don’t leave or move,

Keep sitting in that sofa.

I want to look into your eyes one more time,

You wearing a hat like a little angel.
