Biro Pusat Statistik (Central Bureau of Statistical) has published data on Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of 2021. Indonesia's economy is claimed to grow 7.07 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

Given that the travel banned which was applied by the Indonesian government during Ied Fitr Holiday, the aviation industry remained suffering in 2021 as is in the previous year.

Based on the financial performance of the two largest aviation companies in Indonesia, none of them recorded a profit. In fact, to survive in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, these companies have applied strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

In regards to the suffering aviation industry, the data that published by BPS becomes an interesting topic for debate. To avoid the debate, BPS has provided the data of passengers of aircraft, sea freight, and train. Compared to the previous period data, the number of traveling people rose in the first semester of 2021.

However, the number of passengers remained lower than the number of passengers prior to the pandemic. Aside from the aviation industry, there are also many companies from various industries experiencing difficulty in the midst of the pandemic. Some of these companies remain to survive until nowadays. Unfortunately, some of them have collapsed.
