What Happens After Death?

It’s a mysterious question isn’t it? What will happen to us after death? Our body will stay here of course, but what will happen to our consciousness. Our consciousness is the reason why we are aware of the things that are around us. We can hear, see and feel because of our conscious.

Life is a cycle and we are all born happy and confused, but we all die differently. We all experience different things in our life. No two people are exactly alike. Sure, there are twins that might have the same taste, like the same clothing and food. But it’s impossible for two people to have the same experiences. That’s why people have different opinions on things.

Different religions have different opinions on things as well. In Christianity and Islam, after death depends on what you did in life. If in your life you treated people well, cared for animals, helped others and prayed from time to time, you would go to heaven. But if you were cruel, mean and stingy you’d go to a place very different from heaven. It would be the exact opposite in a way.

In Christianity and Islam there is place for bad and evil people, and it’s commonly known as hell. Hell is described as a fiery pit of doom where suffering takes place everywhere. So basically what you do in life, affects your afterlife. You get what you deserve and there are only two choices, up or down. Left or right, and you get to choose your fate.

Conscious is a type of energy right? You can see stuff, breathe air and touch the fabric of your chair. The neurons send messages to your brain and you can feel stuff while you are aware of what is happening to you. The laws of physics state that energy is something that cannot be created nor destroyed. According to the laws of physics, it just so happened to be there and it will be forever. So after you die, scientists say that something will happen, but they just don’t know what will happen yet.

In Christianity and Islam you have two choices of fates that happen after you die. It’s either heaven or hell, but in the religion Buddha, it’s quite different. Very different in fact. A long time ago, during the age where the religion Hindu ruled India a new religion started to spread out. Hindu relies on the caste. People were divided into groups, depending on what you were and what you did. Priests were at the top. Warriors were the runner up followed by traders and last but not least, the workers.

Technically, the workers were the least. They were at the bottom at were treated less. Also, at that time you couldn’t marry someone from the other group, and you can’t convert to another group either. So then Buddhism came along and the new religion spread wildly. In Buddhism, if you did well in your current life, your reward after you died would be reincarnated (born) into another living body. Energy and the soul in Buddha were transitory, movable. This made Buddhism so popular.

Life is a cycle. No matter how much water you drink, how much you exercise and eat healthy foods, we still can’t hide from what will happen to us. So don’t be worried, our cycle has yet to reach its end.
