Mental health is an issue that is often discussed and is an important matter for people, it mostly happens in teenagers and children. Based on the Indonesia-National Adolescent Mental Health Survey 2022, 15,5 million (34,9 percent) teenagers have a mental problem, and 2,45 million (5,5 percent) teenagers have mental disorders. This mostly happens in teenagers around 16-20 years. This is caused by the transition from teenagers to an adult, so they need to adapt to this situation. The adaptation is related to new social lives, education and social responsibilities, and cultural demands. All of these things make them feel pressured and they still don't know how to deal with this stress and anxiety. The mental disorders most commonly suffered by teenagers are anxiety disorders, a combination of social phobia and anxiety disorders at 3.7%.
Major depressive disorder came in second place at 1.0%, followed by behavioral disorders at 0.9%. Additionally, there are two disorders with a 0.5% score each which are attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This needs to be considered, especially for parents. Parents must pay attention to their children's behavior and build a good relationship with their child so that communication with their child is maintained. It is important for parents to ask about their children's lives, what their activities are, and how they feel every day. Parents need to be good friends and also good supporters to confide in for their children, so their children do not feel embarrassed about telling their parents about their lives or the worst is they will decline to talk about it. Not only for parents, teachers, and also friends support is a matter to maintain someone's mental health.
