As we know, there're many information on internet... about movie, music, food, traveling, health, politics, economy, philosophy, life style, hobby, health, and many more. It's certainly good to get such information. We can learn anything or even get inspired by something.
However, there're some "side effects" too from internet. These usually give negative impact upon us, especially in making comparison about something. We tend to think that other country, culture, or society is better than ours. We then "overestimate" other country... and in the same time, tend to "underestimate" our own. Sad, huh?
In my opinion, this assumption is not good. There's no perfect country, culture, or society. Every country is unique and has its own beauty. Of course, it's okay to admire other country... but we must respect ours too.
For example, there's no snow in Indonesia. But, it doesn't mean this country is lack of beauty or "less-perfect". In fact, we must be grateful because snow storm can be very dangerous and scary.
On politics or economy are the same... no country is perfect. There're criminals, corruptors, and law -breakers too in other countries. Speaking about economy, unemployment and poverty can also be found anywhere in this world. Beggars and homeless people are also there in advanced countries, not only in developing ones.
So, basically we're only the same human, living in the same planet, and facing the same problems. Let's help each other, rather than ridicule each other. Keeping the spirit of nationalism is still good... just let's not implement it in narrow-minded vision.
