The ouster of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol (officially impeached)

The president of South Korea suddenly declared martial law on December 3, 2024 suddenly. This action caused concern among citizens and caused political chaos.

The response of South Koreans, thousands of citizens took to the streets in Seoul to lead Yoon's resignation for his actions. 

There were 204 parliamentarians who demanded the impeachment of president Yoon, with this impeachment president Yoon was removed from office. And was temporarily replaced by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who waited 180 days for the final decision.

Yoon is the second president in South Korean history to be successfully impeached. Park Geun-hye, another conservative president, was impeached in December 2016 and removed from office in March 2017. 

There were several party responses that showed complex and diverse political dynamics. Among them was one of the People's Power Party (PPP), which had voted in favor of impeachment.

In this demonstration made history again for South Koreans, because an estimated 200,00 people descended on the streets of the capital city of Seoul to wait for this certainty.

For his actions, President Yoon does not regret his actions, there is an 11% acceptance rate for him from the previous 19% due to the declaration of martial law. And there are 75% of people who approve of his impeachment.
