(Short Conversation) We Don't Like Good News?

A: It seems that some of Indonesian people are sceptical about any good news from their own country. They don't believe any progress from Indonesia. Is it a kind of national inferior or what, bro?

B: Good question. But, of course some other Indonesians can see this case in more objective ways. It means we must realize there're some real good news from this country...among tons of bad news we hear everyday. 

A: If an international institution saying that Indonesia succeed in reducing the poverty rate, do you believe that?

B: Yeah...why not? Do you prefer to hear news saying that Indonesia is a fail nation? No, do you? Of course, we must clarify the news first by making comparison from other sources.

A: Some people might think that any good news about Indonesia from foreign institution is a "trap" to make us feel that everything is okay. Well?

B: That's why we need to clarify any information around us. In globalization era as today, we know that the competition among countries is very tight. As a developing country, we tend to think that we can never win the competition and deserve to lose in every way. Yeah... I smell a little inferior feeling too sometimes.

A: So, what should we do?

B: I think we should think carefully. As a nation, we do face many hardships to advance this country. But, who know we actually can succeed in taking down some problems. In the same time, let's not think that we can never make some progress simply because we're still under "developing nation" label. If so, I'm afraid we really are an inferior nation.
