A: Are you a vegetarian or meat lover, bro?
B: Neither one. I eat meat, but not too much. There're some meat that I don't like the taste, like pork or turkey. I'm also allergic to some seafood. So, it's not based on any religion teaching, but rather based on my "tongue tasty-feeling"... haha.
A: Ever heard that being a vegetarian is better and more healthy?
B: Yes. I think it depend on the person's other life style too. If the vegetarian person smoke, drink too much alcohol, or doesn't like doing sport, I guess it's still useless.
A: As far as I know, Buddhism tend to teach the followers to become vegetarian. Killing living being is a bad karma. Am I wrong?
B: No. However, it's okay to eat meat as long as you didn't butch the animal by yourself or see anyone kill the animal for you. At least, I heard some Buddhist monks ever said that.
A: How about eating in Buddhist countries restaurants, like in Vietnamese or Thai resto, in which serve meat in the menu?
B: Good question. It happens that I never eat in such restaurants. Anyway, I just heard that eating meat in certain level is actually good for our health. It can provide us with enough energy for daily activity. So, in short... maybe it's better to be a moderate person. Don't eat too much or too less meat. I might be wrong. It's just my own idea.
