The Significant Role of The Youth and It's Moral Decadence

As we know that the youth is the hope for tomorrow. The youth is the right-hand man of the country, we can put our future especially our future's country on their hands. As the future of the country, we should make our country better than before. We can increase our achievements either academic or non-academic, also we can tolerate to our environment. We can begin it from the small things around us, such as throwing the rubbish in the dutsbin, doing the cooperation and manners towards elders. 

Nowadays, we have heard about "moral panic" or "moral decadence" which is the big problem when the youth of the country has decreased their attitude. It also called the virus that damages the country. Moral decadence does not occur by itself, it occurs by some causes. There are three main points that have the relation each others. The first point is cases of the youth. 

Recently, we appaled with the issue that many people espicially the college students go to the cafe for doing some assignments, but it will be ended by entertaining themselves. As the result, their assigments that should be done are dropped behind. In other case, the free sex that had spread recently. It causes by the forbidden relationship between one and another. Another case is pornography which is also  had spread recently. These cases are have corelation with the second point, which is the factors that cause the recently issues. 

The factors are four, those are environment, technology's advances, feeling curious, and parents. The first factor is environment, it conducts either school and friends. I have heard that people who have broken home backgrounds, they will be naughty because lack of attention. In fact, it does not cause by that problem, but actually it cause by their environment. The environment determines they will be good people or not. As in HR. Abu Daud said: (someone is depending on their bestfriend's religion, thus look at one of you to whom they make a friend). The second factor is technology's advances. 

Technology also has the impact for the youth. By technology, students can sufr manythings from internet. The third factor is feeling curious. Someone will fell curious when they banned from something. They will try to do it. The fourth factor is parents. Parents have the biggest responsible to educate their child, espicially a mother. She is the first school for their children, as in the tarbiyatul aulad book said "a mother is the first school", but it does not mean that father just has the smaller resposible. Both of them will struggle to make their children far from the crime. 

Talking about parents, it has the corelation with the third point. It is the parenting styles which are have two kinds, the good and the bad. The good parenting style is authoritative parenting. Parents who apply this style will be act like a bestfriend for their children. They also will give the motivations, they will understand about individual rights, they will gave the guidance. This parenting style is good for the children, and they will fell safe and mostly will talk about their problems. 

They will give the reasons for something forbidden too. In the contrary, the other style is restrictive parenting which is always forbid something without any explanations. They also always give the command, punishments but not appreciation. This parenting style is bad, it will make the children stressed by this style. In the Islamic perspective, the good parenting styles are four, those are al-mukalatah (socialitation), al-i'tiyad (habituation), at-ta'allum (education), and al-musyahadah (observation). From these, we catch that the youth has the significant role for our future. 

I expect for you all, if  you become the parents, take the good parenting style. By good parenting style we will not face some complicated issue of the adolescent, but we will make the educated youth and as the result, out country will have the ideal youth for future's country.
