Abstrak
Lerak fruit (Sapindus rarak), also known as soapberry or soapnut, is a plant found in Indonesia. The seeds of the lerak fruit are usually used as a traditional washing agent, most commonly used to wash batik materials to maintain their quality. The seeds of the lerak fruit contain saponins or natural compounds with detergent properties that can clean dirt without polluting the environment. The method of implementation is socialization, competency improvement, and production or implementation of activities.
The purpose of this activity is to increase participants' knowledge about lerak fruit as an alternative to the use of natural and environmentally friendly soap and a substitute for conventional detergent soap that can pollute the environment. Educational activities to make environmentally friendly soap from lerak fruit in Cinity Housing RT 010 RW 009 Cikarang have been carried out well and achieved their goals. The mothers enthusiastically participated in this educational activity and showed high interest in learning to make their own lerak soap and were interested in starting to use lerak soap for their daily lives.
