Rubrics are a tool for teachers to establish scoring assignments for students. In my opinion, teachers really need to make guidelines or rubrics in the assessments carried out during teaching. This is because the purpose of the assessment is to determine students' learning abilities, improve student learning activities, encourage student enthusiasm in learning and as feedback for improvements in learning for teachers.
In compiling an assessment rubric, a teacher or educator must determine what activities or aspects will be assessed from students. These activities or aspects are tailored to the competencies or learning objectives to be achieved during learning activities. Recommended forms of assessment of student learning outcomes include: authentic assessment, self-assessment, portfolio assessment, daily national tests, midterm evaluation, final semester evaluation, exams, and school/madrasah exams.
My experience in making assessment rubrics for writing lessons, at first, I thought making rubrics was just a trivial matter or not difficult for a teacher, but it turned out that my thinking was very wrong, because making rubrics did not mean what I thought. Yes, of course in compiling or making an assessment rubric, a teacher must give a score that is in accordance with the work of his students, must really determine the right criteria in accordance with student promotion indicators. So, you can say that while making an assessment rubric for writing lessons, I found it very difficult, because this was the first time for me to make an assessment rubric. I must look in various references to see examples of appropriate rubrics for writing lessons, I must find out what aspects are appropriate for assessment, then I must see examples of scores given that must be in accordance with students' abilities.
