Solo – The Reptile Community enlivened Car Free Day (CFD) on Jl. Slamet Riyadi Solo, right in front of Sriwedari, on Sunday (November 17, 2024). Their aim was to educate the public about various types of reptiles that are often perceived as intimidating.

Dozens of visitors of all ages enthusiastically gathered around the community’s booth. A variety of exotic animals such as large and small snakes, alligators, and iguanas were showcased during the event. Visitors were not only able to observe but also take photos, hold, and even touch these reptiles, all of which were guaranteed safe under the community’s supervision.

“All the animals here are tame because their hunting instincts have faded,” said one of the community members assisting visitors.

The enthusiasm of the visitors was evident from the crowd that constantly surrounded the booth. One visitor, Latifah (22), expressed her excitement about learning more about reptiles. “I was scared at first, but after learning they’re tame and safe, I became curious and wanted to hold a snake,” she said with a smile.

The presence of the reptile community added a unique charm to CFD Solo. Beyond providing entertainment, this activity offered new insights to the public about the diversity of fauna, particularly reptiles.
