Joseph Conrad
Joseph Conrad with original name "Jzef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski" was known as a Polish-British novelist and story writer. He also known as one of the greatest writers in the English language even though he did not speak English fluently until his twenties. He was born in 3 December 1857,Berdychiv. His formative years were shaped by political turmoil, as his parents, fervent Polish nationalists, faced exile to Siberia at the hands of Russian authorities. After becoming an orphan at a young age, Conrad relocated to France and subsequently to England, where he embarked on a career as a merchant sailor.
One experience that influenced "Joseph Conrad" to become professional career was his life in the maritime whereby he became an accomplished novelist. His books are predominantly pointed around the "adventures", "imperialism", and "the nature of human beings". One of his most famous novels titled "Heart of Darkness" (1899) shows about a critique of colonialism set in the "Congo" River basin, and also with titled "Lord Jim" (1900), it examines themes about "honor and redemption".
His literary style is characterized by innovative narrative techniques and multifaceted characters. Although English was not his native language as we known, Conrad actually mastered it and emerged as a most influent figure in literature. His works have made a ever lasting impression on literary scholarship and remain widely read and studied.
In the end of his life, Joseph Conrad passed away at age 66 on August 3, 1924, in Canterbury, England, His leaving a profound legacy of literary accomplishment.
