What comes to mind when we hear the words "cellphone" or "smartphone"? Perhaps the convenience of communication or easy access to information. Today, I want to take us through an inevitable aspect of this technological development, namely its impact on our social activities.
First, let's look at it from the perspective of someone who disagrees. Some people believe that cell phones actually increase the level of socialization. Through social media platforms, we can connect with people in various corners of the world. Online discussions, group chats and information exchange have become more accessible. This creates a more open and connected social world and also with cellphones, people have more freedom to search for information on the internet.
However, it cannot be ignored that there are people who hold some opposing views. There are concerns that children, who used to actively play outside the home, now tend to be glued to their cellphone screens. Outside activities that build social interaction are marginalized and many people when they gather only focus on their cellphones. The question is, are cellphones the cause of the decline in the quality of interaction between them?
Then, let's look at people who have views that try to understand both sides. Cellphones, without a doubt, bring both positive and negative benefits. This technology makes communication easier, however, over-dependence can lead to social isolation. It is important for us to find the right balance in the use of this technology, so that we do not lose the quality of social interactions in the real world.
But. In my opinion, the existence of cellphones has made people socialize less in the real world because they are now happier or more comfortable using social media to communicate and socialize with lots of people and can get more information more easily.
In closing, I would like to invite us all to reflect. The cellphone is a tool that can be our socialization's friend or enemy. How we use and manage interactions with these technologies will shape our social world. Let's be wise in facing this development and ensure that we are not only connected digitally, but also continue to celebrate togetherness in the real world. Thank You.
