Capturing the Inside Out movie, humans are constructed from some emotions such as sadness, joy, fear and anger. The movie amazingly raises the series of conflicts between those emotions through voices in Riley's head, and it happens all the time. dr. Jiemi Ardian, Sp.Kj, a psychiatrist, explains that the human body and mind are constructed in combination of different parties, or we can say, persons. They might be called persons because their voices appear spontaneously without actually being asked and being thought, as if they can think by themselves to win our decision.
Well, this complicated relation inside us actually happens to all persons. In normal people, these persons are creating a harmonical synergy to each other. They fulfill the needs to actually support us. Therefore, the psychoanalysis theory found by Sigmund Freud proves that humans consist of id, ego, and superego. In a clear example, id is anything that you want to get as a desire, giving you a sense of satisfaction and pleasure. All of your wishes are id, and you actually want to grab it all at once. In contrast to that, we have a superego. It consists of many social obstacles that limit your ability to reach your id. For example, when you go to a jewelry store, you actually want to get one of the pearls, but you have no money. Then, you cannot just steal that to fulfill your wish because you will be punished for stealing.
Superego keeps all the boundaries consisting of social norms, law, and wisdom to stop you being so wild to fulfill your desire or id. The superego makes the world ranged in harmony. In many cases, if you break the limit of superego to win your id, the superego will make you feel guilty as a result. On the other hand, we have ego in ourselves. This functions as our state or decision tool in the form of logical thinking, either to win the id or superego. Therefore, we will always have a battle with the characters inside us. It is a lifelong journey to be mature enough to take the right decision on winning those battles. For the rest of it, those persons inside us will stay there forever.
